The Norman castle, named Chepstow, is located in southeast Wales, in the town of Monmouthshire. Chepstow has great historical improtance. Chepstow is found high above the banks of the river Wye in southeast Wales. James of St. George was the master builder of this castle. Chepstow's Great Hall was begun in 1607, and is the oldest stone expantion in Britain. The Great Hall and cliff side view are the two most memorable and interesting things about the Chepstow castle. The remnants is distinctively Norman structure characterisics, the castle is constructed in in a long terrace fashion, and the large gatehouse with high curtain walls that in turn connect to a series of small towers.

The Edwadian castle,named Beaumaris, is located in Northern Wales. Beaumaris was very well constructed, even though it wasn't completed, because of the stopping of its funding. The castle was geometrically symmetrical. Master James of St. George was the master builder of Beaumaris. The castle's outer ward was made up of a tidal dock, located at the south side, a moat, and sixteen towers. The inner ward was the biggest part of the castle, it measured three-fourths of a mile. The inner ward was made up of a kitchen, stable, granary, six towers, and an unfinished main hall. Beaumaris was the last castle to be built by King Edward the First.

The Welsh castle, named Ewloe, is located in northeast Wales. Very little is known about the castle of Ewloe, there are many different interpretations to whom build the castle, for now though it is believed to be built by Llywelyn ap Iorwerth. This castle is the typical work of the Welsh. This can be proved by the D-shaped tower which is native to Welsh castles. Ewloe wasn't very big in size at all. The one thing that is definetly clear and true is that the curtain wall on the north and south sides of the lower ward touch the surrounding upper ward. This suggest that both the lower and the west tower, were added as a second stage in the building of the castle.
